How to search for specific files with google (PREMIUM - FREE)

How to search for specific files with google
To search for specific files using Google, follow these more detailed steps:

  1. Open the Google website in your favorite web browser.
  2. In the Google search bar, type a keyword or phrase related to the file you are looking for. For example, if you are looking for a camera user manual, type "camera user manual" in the search bar.
  3. After typing the keyword or phrase, add a space and type "filetype:" followed by the type of file you are looking for. For example, if you are looking for a PDF file, type "filetype:pdf" after the keyword or phrase. If you are looking for an Excel file, type "filetype:xls" and so on.
  4. If you want to search for a file on a specific website, add "site:" before the website URL. For example, if you want to search for a PDF file on "math exercises" on the University of Barcelona website, type "math exercises filetype:pdf site:ub.edu" in the search bar. Note that if you want to search all websites containing information about "math exercises," simply type "math exercises filetype:pdf" without adding "site:".
  5. Once you have typed in your search terms, click the Google search button or press the Enter key.
  6. Google will display search results that match your search terms and the specific file type you are looking for. If you want to further refine the results, use the search filters that appear below the search bar to adjust your search criteria.
With these detailed steps, you can effectively and quickly search for specific files on the web using Google search.
